Still 2PM

My love for 2PM died a little after my Korean obsession turned into a Taiwanese addiction.

I still think those boys are very talented. Very true. Why do I think that? I guess it's probably because I remember watching Wild Bunny (I think that's what it was called) and the boys were just incredibly loud, wild and completely INSANE. Just watching 10 minutes of it and trying to keep up with them was impossible and I was watching it with English subs so I had to pause and read every 10 seconds of the video. Now that I think of it, I should've felt sorry to the subbers, must've been hard on them. Point is, those boys definitely appear genuine to me.

Vocally speaking, they're not the greatest singing group, but I don't see what there is to criticize? I mean, they CAN sing, all of them CAN sing. And by CAN sing, I mean, they all can sing WELL. Surely, if you decide to compare them to Mariah Carey, then they're no match, but if you compare them to the average singer, they're all right. And Taecyeon raps, okay?!

These boys specialize in acrobatics and their dancing, this is demonstrated throughout all their performances and promotions. There is a spectrum among the group, we have goofy, to awkward, to quiet, to loud, to just weird... Some sing better than others, some dance better than others, some rap better than others, some just look better than others... and together they make the group complete.

People constantly compare them to DBSK and I never really understand why. They're from two different management companies who had 2 different concepts in mind when the groups were made. DBSK was first made as a singing group (not a dancing group) of acapella and pop songs. Although they do dance... clearly Yunho and Junsu excelled, no? And the rest were just good. Junsu, Jaejoong, Changmin had a lot of singing parts in songs probably because they were the better singers or maybe they could cover more ranges in the melody.

2PM are made to be dancers, they're very mainstream R&B and hip-hopish? Junsu, Chansung and Wooyoung sing well, no? And the rest are just good. Wooyoung, Junho, Chansung are really good at doing all these flips. Nickkhun is just absolutely gorgeous. And Taec raps well.

It's been said before and I'll say it again, comparing DBSK and 2PM is like comparing apples and oranges. BUT. AND THERE IS A BUT. Although you can't exactly compare them fairly, I can't say that it's wrong for you to do so. I mean, these groups are out to make our money. And we spend it on whoever we think deserves it. Some people like good singers and some people like good dancers, some people go for the hottie, everyone has their own "idea" of what is good and what isn't based on what we find attractive and talented.

Anywayz. How did I even get sidetracked so much? I didn't even want to talk about all that.

The purpose of this post is regarding the  "Still 2PM" teaser. Everyone has been saying that the dance moves were sloppy and very badly done. In my personal opinion, I agree. I've seen 2PM do better. All their flips in the video seem to be at an angle... nothing's aligned properly. This isn't a live performance on stage, where they had one shot to pull everything off. After many retakes, this is as good as they could get it to be? I know what you lovers are all going to say, "They're only human!", "Let's see you do it!", "Stop being such a hater!" Ugh. Fans. Calm down! I'm not saying they suck, I'm just saying that I've seen better. And yes you can tell me how much these boys need sleep and how hard they've been working, and how everyone just needs to appreciate their work... these are just your assumptions and sympathetic love towards the boys. I'm just stating a personal opinion on what I thought of the teaser. Maybe the whole MV will be better. Don't know. But from the teaser, I'm not impressed. However, that's not to say the choreography is indeed very good. I mean, it must be hard to do flips like that and the last act was dead on.

Sorry Taec and Wooyoung, you know I still love you guys, right?

Another World

After I got into all the Korean and (sort of) Japanese music, I didn't really listen to anything else except for the occasionally English song. I was so warped into the Korean Entertainment world, i would even watch all these Korean variety shows and such. It was almost like an addiction.

I don't know what made me leave the Korean entertainment world... maybe it was because DBSK disbanded. I know I GOT INTO all the Korean stuff BECAUSE OF DBSK, so I guess once they disappeared, my interest for the Korean world slowly faded. What I really liked about Korean music, and I guess I still appreciate it, is the fact that most singers can actually sing and they can dance too, at the same time!

Before Korean stuff, I listened to mainly mainstream English songs and Cantonese songs. I was never addicted to English entertainment... probably because it's always been around me. Cantonese songs were good... but... a lot of the singers weren't all that great and I can't think of an idol Cantonese singer who can actually sing and dance. Most of the people I can name are oldies, for example, AARON KWOK. LMFAO. Sherry thinks he's oily... wtf?!

SO. I guess when I first listened to Korean music, I was really impressed, like, "Wow. These people can really sing and dance." So I did appreciate them for their talent. And then I realized all the Korean girls are really pretty and they're all so skinny and pale and they have the most perfect noses. LOL.

I think I started watching 娱乐百分百 because of Rainie. I've always sort of followed her music. So once she appeared on that variety show and I watched Dancing King teach her how to dance and it was just absolutely HILARIOUS. Ever since then, I started watching 娱乐百分百. I love the two host, 小猪 and 小鬼. They're so funny! I'd love to just have them in my life and make me laugh everyday. The variety show talks about Taiwan entertainment and it helps artists promote songs and albums and movies and such so when guests come onto the show, I get to know who they are and if I like them, I'll search them up, listen to their music, watch their movies. My mom says I have 三分热度 and I can see what she means by that. Nothing for me is forever. I can say that I love to dance and I would love to dance forever but for me, forever ends. I can bored of things. I'm always searching for change and better things.

I don't know if that means I'm someone who's just seeks perfection and strives for improvement OR if it means that I'm just a 分心 kind of person where I'm just really greedy and I want more and more. I can see it BOTH ways as a good and bad thing. I mean to have the courage to switch careers and find something more suitable for me is a good thing. But to always be switching jobs because I'm bored isn't a great thing... that means I'll never actually ever be GREAT at something. I'll just be good at everything, I'll get a taste of everything but I'll never excel at ONE thing. If I see this as a bad thing about myself, I don't know if I can actually change this trait. I mean, when I'm bored of something, I seriously don't give a shit about it and even when I FORCE myself to like it, my heart is still empty... I don't feel it. I can tell myself how much I love it but deep inside I know I don't. And no matter how much I try to love it, I can't bring myself to dedicate 100% of myself to it. When I stop liking something, I don't get a sense of reminisce. I don't miss it. I don't regret it. I just completely forget it about and I don't care about it anymore.

Maybe all this change just means that I'm still searching for the right thing. That's possible right??? It just means I'm trying on all the different sizes and styles before I find what I actually like, right? And after all this testing is done, I will find the right outfit for me.

How did I get to talking about this? LOL

So as I was saying about Taiwanese entertainment stuff... It's absolutely great. I love it. Alan Luo is absolutely amazing. I love him to death. I should do one of those TOP 10 HOTTEST GUYS list every year and I can see how it changes every year. Actually, it probably changes every month for me, lol.

When I talk about Alan Luo, I have to mention JOLIN TSAI. WHY DOES EVERYONE LOVE HER SO MUCH?! And WHYYYYY do people call her the Dancing Queen of ASIA?! Does she deserve such a title? If there has to be a dancing queen of Asia, the award definitely goes to BoA. FO SHO. I don't know why I don't like her all that much. I like her fast songs, they're pretty good. I don't think she can sing slow songs very well. And her dancing isn't bad, I just don't think she's the DANCING QUEEN of ASIA. You know... that's a big title. LOL. I think what bothers me is that she has no personality. I know she's a singer/dancer so her job title doesn't entail "have a personality" but I think singers/dancers = entertainers and therefore entertainers must have some kind of personality. When I watch interviews of her, she's so BORING! And maybe it's a language barrier, and I don't understand everything she's saying but she comes across as bitchy. Like if people ask her, "Would you ever date Alan Luo?" She'd be like, "I've answered that question like 300 times. The answer is no." And she says it in such a oh-em-gee-I-know-everyone-wants-to-date-me kind of way.

Before I didn't really know who she was... I only knew her to be the rumored ex-girlfriend of Jay Chou. At that time, I saw a picture of her and I was like, "Oh she's pretty. And when they stand beside each other, they do look good together." BUT NOW. I THINK HE'S TOO GOOD FOR HER!!!!!

The other Taiwanese female that bothers me is Barbie Hsu. SHE'S EVERYWHERE! I like her younger sister more. Even though her younger sister throws herself at every guy, we all know it's all fun and games. Barbie just comes across as really bitchy. I can't stand entertainers who think they're all that and act all like, "Yo. I'm THE hottest thing here so please step out of my way."

Those two females are so popular in Taiwan but I don't see what's so great about them. I really like Rainie Yang. She's also really big in Taiwan too but she's so endearing and she's so nice to all her fans. I can't stand her dramas because she always plays this absolutely annoying "cute" female. Don't believe me? Watch any of her dramas. I think Devil Beside You is the only drama of hers that I really enjoyed but that's because she acts like a normal person in that drama, lol and not some uneducated stupid girl who talks to hairdryers *rolls eyes*. I LOVE HER SONGS. ALL HER SONGS. I LOVE THEM ALL!!!!!

This is all I have to rant today about Taiwan singers. I'm starting my TOP 10 HOTTEST GUYS list. I don't know if I'll finish today but hopefully I will. I can't wait to share them with you!
